Tony & Katherine Say

I had learnt some dance styles many years ago, and Katherine had never done any dancing. We didn’t have any reservations working with Jo herself, as she had come highly recommended by the local vicar’s wife.  Katherine had some reservations about whether she would be any good at dancing having never done it before! Jo put us both at ease from the first lesson.  She was patient and encouraging throughout, and allowed us to learn a bit at a time, building on our existing knowledge each week.  Jo was also really flexible with us with regards to lesson times and dates; if we were unable to attend one week we were able to re-book that lesson at the end, and she added a couple of extra lessons on for us at the end to boost our confidence. Our Confidence grew dancing, and we loved dancing together. A wonderful routine to one of our favourite songs for our first dance at our wedding… and on the day it all went exactly right

In summary, Jo is a wonderful teacher who is kind, considerate and approachable.  She is very perceptive and aware of your needs and personal circumstances, and able to teach you accordingly.  We would definitely recommend her!

“We were super excited about our wedding but dreading our wedding dance, and meeting you was a godsend. We couldn’t even shuffle in hold, but really wanted to surprise our lovely friends and family with a first dance to remember, and for the right reasons. Neither of us had danced before, and there was a fear of looking silly, but you were so enthusiastic, and put us at ease straight away. Any reservations we may have had quickly disappeared. We started to look forward to the lessons very early on, and they were a really nice part of the wedding build up. You have been a star. We would recommend working with you to anyone. Jo, you are so much fun to be around, really put us at ease, and worked to our strengths. We feel we have made a friend during the process. The smiles on our friends’ and families’ faces when they watched our dance. No one expected more than a shuffle, and they were blown away by our routine, thank you so much Jo! It is a lovely memory”.

“I met Steph at a wedding fair at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre last year and took a leaflet home, James thought it would be fun to learn a dance together so we signed up! James (and Myself) were both a bit nervous about our lack of dance skills, but the sessions were very enjoyable (and also a good workout!). The one best result we have got from the lessons is the enjoyment because we really have enjoyed learning to dance together”

“The bride was thrilled at her surprise dance activity at her hen weekend. Joanna Beardsmore-Dilks choreographed two wonderful dances in the bride’s favourite jive style, perfect for those who were non-dancers and with enough content to delight those who had some dance experience. Jo taught us in a fun and lighthearted way so that no one felt self-conscious, and it was memorable enough to repeat the dance as a flashmob to surprise the bridegroom and other guests at the wedding reception a month later.”
